Some suggested areas for The Future of Sustainable Development in Asia: Prospects and Implications for Euro-Asia Business are:

  1. Theoretical and/or perspective papers, including philosophical, social and ecological approaches which may contribute to sustainable development in Europe and Asia.

  2. Papers exploring the interplay between business activities and issues of sustainable development, e.g. climate change, natural resources, power generation, chemical and biological impacts, health and welfare, social integration, resource sustainability, wildlife habitats and other related issues in Europe and Asia.

  3. Corporate activities aimed at improving sustainability, e.g. new technologies, product development and recycling businesses in Europe and Asia. For example, what might be the implications for the transfer of carbon emission reducing technology from European firms to Asian ones? What channels might accomplish this transfer effectively and efficiently?

  4. Corporate governance and its relationship to social and environmental concerns in Europe and Asia.

  5. Civil movements, including trade unions, NGOs, co-operatives, religious perspectives, etc., which express concerns about the wider effects of economic growth in Europe and Asia. How can such movements ensure that Euro-Asia business supports the sustainable development agenda?

  6. Papers exploring interactions between profit, consumerism, community and environment.

  7. Empirical research elucidating issues around sustainable development and discussing their theoretical implications.

  8. Euro-Asia collaboration words sustainable development.

As the conference is not restricted to the special theme, we also welcome paper submissions on the following tracks and beyond:
