ABM Special Call |
2007-06-25Dear EAMSA members
ABM (http://www.palgrave-journals.com/abm/index.html) is an independent journal associated with EAMSA. ABM aims to explore topical issues in the arena of Asian business and management. We pay particular attention to issues involving civil society, seeking to expand the horizons and frontiers of research and establish a truly social agenda within the field of business and management.
We are now launching two
‘calls for papers’ which we hope to publish over three consecutive years as a reflection of our keen interest in exploring new horizons in business and management studies. They will focus attention on differing aspects of the wider social implications of Asian business, from contextual and interdisciplinary perspectives. And we are also keen to provoke ''a wide range of theoretical and methodological perspectives on the two special topic areas''.
We already have some reviewers and guest editors but we ''welcome'' new reviewers and possible editors who support this project and/or have a special interest and are writing in the fields of these topics. For further information on the call for papers and the special issues of ABM, please see an attached flier and contact Harukiyo Hasegawa, Doshisha University (email: hhasegaw@mail.doshisha.ac.jp) and Jacob Park, Green Mountain College (e-mail: parkj@greenmtn.edu).

Executive/managers session |
2007-05-24Dear colleagues,
I want to organise an executives/managers session along the line of the conference theme of the EAMSA conference in Leeds.
I have one Japanese senior manager who wants to make a presentation on localisation of Japanese top executives in their overseas subsidiaries. I wonder if you would find some managers/executives from Asia or Europe who would also be interested in making presentation in the coming EAMSA conference.
With warm regards,
Harukiyo

2006-12-01This years conference held in Seoul left a few days of very interesting experiences. Seoul is typically a place of dualities of all kinds. The conference served as 'the forum' to get a grasp of different issues concerning Korea and its neighbouring countries. This years Award winner perfectly catched the institutional qualities of Korea on firms' performance. However, sometimes a few pictures say more than words.

Dolles to HBS |
2006-10-06Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Over the past few months, you may have noticed my e-mails were more sporadic than usual. Well, there's been a very good reason for it: I'm very happy to announce that I've recently joined heilbronn business school (hbs) in Germany as their Academic Director Research and Professor of Management & International Business. hbs is a University of Applied Sciences. The school is privately funded by the German Lidl-Kaufland Group with a mission led by Excellence, Internationality, Efficiency and the integration of Learning, Knowledge and Practice.
More to the point, hbs is currently offering two part-time Masters programmes - an MBA in Management Focus Leadership and a Masters in Business Law (L.L.M.). With my support hbs will start a new part-time Executive Education Programme in International Business in 2007. Given the highly interdisciplinary nature of research and scholarship, given the shared nature of complex and expensive research instrumentation, I will also play a vital role to sharpen the research profile of hbs in close collaborations - regional, national, and international.
The hbs campus is situated in Heilbronn, a medium-sized city in the south-western part of Germany. The city is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and has close proximity to many historical cities. After spending five exciting years in Tokyo we therefore moved back to Europe in summer this year.
I hope to meet you in Heilbronn and let's keep in touch. My new contact details are as follows:
